Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a difficult season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in specific - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first trophy following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court from that period of 2023.
Victory also means the Russian has secured 21 titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my children together, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six finals, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.
His retrieving approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had caused commentators to question if his capacity to play at the top level was finished.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and play assertively, supported by an improved serve.
He recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour championship, took control to push for a decider.
He rescued 4 early chances in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched victory with a rally at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
