Nearly 135 days after the previous coach's first press conference as the club's head coach, successor the German coach met with the media at Ibrox for the first time.

The magnitude of the task facing him is widely recognized, considering his predecessor's chaotic and unsuccessful 123-day spell.

The ex- Sheffield Wednesday boss was joined by club chairman Andrew Cavenagh, along with the frequently questioned duo of football director Kevin Thelwell and CEO Patrick Stewart.

But what precisely was revealed from the young German's maiden media outing as the club's manager?

Rohl's Main Priority - Winning Comes First

One thing came through loud and clear from Rohl's first appearance before the local press - he understands the need to secure victories, and achieve this quickly.

His predecessor Martin managed just 17 games and 123 days as manager, so the question emerged about how long Rohl believes is realistic to turn around the struggling team.

While skillfully avoiding a direct answer that might create future pressure, the coach's message was very evident.

"With hope as soon as possible," he stated. "That is essential.
"In football you have limited time. You can discuss future plans but we know it's about immediate results and the short-term is about securing victories. This is what I demand.
"One thing remains obvious - I require all players to comprehend how we want to perform. I come back to my primary theme: victory comes first, entertaining football and unity. If you follow this order, I believe that I'll stay very long at the club."

Pressure is Normal

We've seen how toxic situations can become at football clubs when performances are poor. Protests have nearly become an expected aspect of the matchday experience on each part of the city currently.

As Rangers' youngest manager in history, the inquiry asked about which attributes the coach thinks he possesses that would enable him to handle, let alone excel, in among the highest-pressure positions in British football?

"I think expectations in this business is normal," he stated. "You must learn that rapidly.
"I believe some people might mention my youth but I'm a decade and a half on this path. I had a great chance to work with the German club and be just the assistant coach, but I experienced what it means to manage a team and the demands you face.
"You begin winning games and then some critics will say you must produce entertaining soccer. That's the next stage but precisely what I want. I relish that challenge and I'm excited for the future."

Kevin Thelwell media conference

There were numerous questions from journalists directed at Thelwell.

Significant attention has focused on the appointment of Robbie Thelwell as recruitment chief, with fans skeptical about his credentials for the position.

However, he justified and clarified the choice to bring Thelwell Jnr to the club.

"It's always awkward to listen and in appearance I think everyone understood when we made this decision to appoint Robbie that he would be seen in a particular way," Thelwell said.
"The reality of circumstances is that we want to bring the very best players to this club.
"My perspective on Robbie's career and situation is he didn't need family help in football.
"He served at Villa as head scout, he then joined Norwich as head of scouting and then got promoted to development role.
"Prior to our hiring him, multiple Premier League clubs wanted to acquire him. Our approach from the beginning of proceedings was discuss with Patrick, Andrew and vice-chairman Paraag Marathe about this situation.
"I remained extremely transparent and I believe Robbie probably underwent a stricter process than any other who's employed by this football club.
"I'm certain is that he'll labor 25/8 to be successful for this football club and I anticipate to him proving that he's going to be a valuable employee for the club."

Additionally, Thelwell defended the signing of forward Youssef Chermiti, who arrived at the club for a reported initial fee of eight million pounds, having failed to find the net in 24 appearances for Everton.

It was Thelwell who transferred the Portugal youth international to Merseyside from Sporting Lisbon - again for significant money in a £15m deal.

The question came if he stands by his expensive signing, who is yet to register in seven outings for Rangers.

"Absolutely, completely," Thelwell responded. "I believe Youssef Chermiti represents who's got huge potential.
"I've never questioned him in any way. Similarly, I think Danny will assist in get the best out of Youssef.
"It's very initial stages for him, he remains promising prospect and of course with inexperienced players they occasionally require patience.
"However, I'm convinced over the course of his career at the club he's going to prove that he is very, very good footballer."

Stewart Understands Supporters' Disappointment and Anger

The chief executive was in the media firing line, considering the vitriol that has been aimed at him by some club fans.

Additionally, there was a banner in the Sandy Jardine stand during the last tie with United suggesting him - and Thelwell - to depart before they were packed for him.

Like his football director, the CEO did not avoid the issue.

"I totally appreciate the disappointment and hurt that fans are experiencing because performances this season haven't been expectations and no one is happy with them," he stated.
"The pain and frustration they feel is matched inside the boardroom.
"Recognize that there must exist an outlet for that dissatisfaction and in my role, I'm responsible.
